Here’s the top 10 issues I’d like to see on the democratic platform in 2020

It really got me thinking about what I want from the democrats in 2020, so I came up with a revised list, but still based on the Occupy Democrats list…

My top 10 issues for 2020

 

 

  1. – Punish Russia for hacking      
    – Prevent Russia from hacking 
    I’d rather prevent Russia from hacking our future elections than punish them for past deeds.

  2. –                                                                   
    – Make Climate Change a top priority 
    Climate change didn’t even make their list and I think it’s a top priority.

  3. – Add 9 Supreme Court Justices                      
    – Bring balance back to the Supreme Court 
    I don’t know where anyone is getting the idea that we’re going to add 9 Supreme Court Justices, but I think it’s more than reasonable to get the court back in balance. I’d also like to see an end to lifetime appointments and zero oversight of the justices. Clarence Thomas’s wife was lobbying for insurance companies as the court was ruling on Healthcare, that should NEVER happen.

  4. – Ban assault rifles                                                                    
    – Ban assault rifles & close background check loopholes 
    Just banning assault rifles is not enough. There should never be an exchange of a firearm without a background check. Not even if Grandpa is gifting grandchild a present. I’d go so far as to say those cases should especially require a background check.

  5. – Abolish the electoral college 
    – Abolish the electoral college 
    One person should have one vote. It seems basic to me, but apparently people still think that land mass should get a vote. I want to live in a REAL DEMOCRACY.

  6. – Fix gerrymandering 
    – Fix gerrymandering 
    Gerrymandering is a huge problem, mostly on the Right, but the Left have done it too. It’s time to end it everywhere.

  7. – We all get the same healthcare as Congress 
    – Medicare for ALL                                               
    I’m not sure why people think that Congress gets free healthcare, they don’t. They’re on the same plan that Federal Employees are on. While it’s good coverage, it still requires a good amount out of pocket and employee contributions. The more they pay, the better the coverage, just like my health insurance through my employer. I NEED Medicare for ALL. 

  8. – Undo everything Trump did         
    – Undo everything that Trump did 
    I’ve got nothing to add to “Undo everything that Trump did”. The list is so long and so horrific that it would take decades to undo everything that he has fucked up.

  9. –                                                                                                                         
    – Prosecute Soctt Pruitt, Ryan Zinke, Betsy DeVos & all other Trump minions that broke laws while serving
    I don’t believe that just prosecuting Trump is enough. It’s not nearly enough. There were so many abuses and laws that were broken by Secretaries of Departments appointed by Trump. Scott Pruitt, Ryan Zinke, Ben Carson, Betsy DeVos and so many more. They ALL need to pay for what they took from us and the damage they did.

  10. – Prosecute Trump 
    – Prosecute Trump 
    PROSECUTE TRUMP to the fullest extent of the law. He should get the same exact compassion and empathy that he gave to all of us, and to all of the refugees that he sadistically refused entry or put in cages.

No, Mr. Trump – Democrats Aren’t Socialists

Having better social programs won’t make us a Socialist country. Not even close, because we’d be doing a lot better if we were…

 

We aren’t even close to being better than countries that are social democracies. It’s a lie that has run its course.

 

Gee, I wonder what all these countries have in common? It couldn’t be Socialism, that wouldn’t fit the conservative BS and lies that they continually spread, would it?

American Capitalism is the best, right? Wrong. I actually don’t believe the US should turn from capitalism, but let’s not keep kidding ourselves.

If we want to be better than we are now, it’s clear what direction we should be going, and it’s the opposite direction that trump and the GOP are taking us.

The one place we come in first, but all the next countries rank better than us at other values and they still have great economies. We are going in the wrong direction.
